ILO is attached to Tacna and also by the Costanera Sur highway. This is a asphalted highway in good conditions which departing from Ilo it continues in parallel to the coast line of the Pacific sea, passes bye the airport, Boliviamar, this is a long section with tight curves and uphill climbs reaching the small port of Sama (Km 76). Afterwards the road continues to the summer bathing resort of Boca del Rio and Pozo Redondo (Toll booth) where road turns left, and moves away from the sea and eventually arrives in Tacna.
